Four Emirate Airline Staff Arraign For Stealing Nigerian Prince’s $1.6million

Four Emirates Airlines staff have been arraigned before of a Federal High Court in Lagos over an alleged theft of $1.6 million belonging to a Lagos businessman Prince Chu Ikem Orji.
The accused staff: Abayomi Adekanbi Abiola, Isiaka Adegoke Adedeji, Awonubi Abayomi and George Ikpekhia, were arraigned alongside Emirates Airlines, Pathfinders International Ltd and Nigeria Aviation Handling Company Ltd.

20yr old daughter of Nassarawa state governor's aide beheaded by ritualists


Barely two months after the 7-month pregnant daughter of Nassarawa state governor's campaign manager, Musa Illu, Amina Suleiman was beheaded by unknown gunmen at her husband's home in Katsina state, yet another daughter of another aide of the Governor has been beheaded by suspected ritual killers.

20-year-old Memuna Galadima, (pictured inset above) the daughter of Mustapha Galadima, the Special Adviser on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs to Governor Umaru Al-Makura was on Feb. 26 found dead along the Agwan Ozoro, in the Karshi development area of Nasarawa State.

Obasanjo Speaks: We Need "do tanks" no more "think tanks"

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has declared that Nigeria’s peculiar challenges required leaders with the requisite experience to tackle them and not mere talkers.

He told guests inside the auditorium of his Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta, during events to mark the celebration of his 78th birthday and 2015 annual summit, that there were too many ‘think-tanks’ in the country instead of ‘do-tanks.’

Finance Minister, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala in Chibok.
The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, on Thursday, March 5, paid a visit to Chibok in Borno State, where over 200 girls were abducted in April 2014.
Dr Okonjo-Iweala laid a block on the foundation of one of the schools being rebuilt by the government and also met with relatives of the missing girls.

EFCC arraigns fake banker for stealing N6m

Akpere Desmond has been parading himself as banker to dupe people.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has dragged a fake First Bank employee, Akpere Ovine Desmond, to the Federal High Court, Warri, Delta State, for allegedly stealing N6 million from a customer, and being in possession of 44 ATM cards with which he perpetrated various other crimes.
Desmond was arraigned on February 25, 2015, on a 2-count charge bordering on conspiracy and money laundering.

For notorious rapist, Adamu Abdullahi, the next 15 years will be spent behind bars for raping a seven-year-old girl.

PHCN staff electrocuted in Asaba

A PHCN staff on illegal duty has lost his life in the process.
A unidentified staff of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN), was electrocuted last night when he tried to undertake the illegal reconnection of power for a client without using protective gloves.
The unfortunate incident which many resident of Asaba, the capital of Delta State, describe as retributive justice, according to Linda Ikeji, happened when the PHCN worker was on the electric pole trying to join wires together.

Terrorists abduct 8 girls, kill 7 in Cameroon

Boko Haram terrorists have reportedly abducted eight girls in Cameroon and killed seven hostages.
The kidnapped girls are between the ages of 11 and 14, school principal, Chetima Ahmidou told AP.
The seven victims had been taken captive by the insurgents while riding in a bus in the Koza area of the country.

Police officer goes berserk, kills infant, shoots woman, girl in Kano

A demented police officer shot dead an infant and injured a woman and a girl.
A police officer attached to the Kano State Police Command, is reported to have gone berserk, shooting dead an infant as well as fatally shooting a woman and a young young girl.
The incident which has been confirmed by the state Police Public Relations Officer, happened at a place called ‘Kwani Mani’, a well known police check point in Bichi local government area of the state.

Court hands down life imprisonment to 'Igbo' dealer

A court in Lagos has sent a man to life imprisonment for selling 'Igbo'.
In what can be seen as a high handed miscarriage of justice, a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has passed a life jail term for a small time drug dealer who specializes in selling 'Igbo', Indian Hemp and small quantities of Heroin and crack cocaine.
The convict, 29-year-old Abiodun Elemoro, was shocked that the presiding judge, Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia, pronounced the sentence on him after he had pleaded guilty to dealing in drugs.
Elemoro who did not have any legal representative, was dragged to the court by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency on the allegation that he was caught in possession of the illicit substance without lawful authority.

Fake DSP apprehended by police

 
A father of four, Makinde Paul who parades himself as a Deputy Superintendent of Police has been arrested by men of the Ogun State Police Command.
Parading the suspect to pressmen at the Police Officers’ Mess, Ibara Housing Estate, the Ogun State Deputy Commissioner of Police, Haliru Gwandu revealed that Makinde Paul was arrested in the Adatan area of the state.

Hospital in search of accident victim's relative


The young man pictured above was involved in a ghastly car accident and was rushed to St Nicholas hospital in Lagos where he is currently in a coma and no relative has come to the hospital to check on him. The hospital took to their twitter handle to call on the public to help locate his relatives..

Former Nigerian Goalkeeper Wilfred Agbonavbare Has Died

Former Nigerian International goalkeeper, Wilfred Agbonavbare has reportedly lost his battle with cancer. The ex-Rayo Vallecano goalkeeper who had been receiving treatment at a Spanish hospital was said to have died yesterday January 26th.

Agbonavbare, who was a member of Nigeria’s U-21 Mexico 1983 Flying Eagles, lost his wife three years ago to breast cancer. May his soul rest in peace, Amen.

Woman arrested for assaulting 15-year-old

  
A woman who is allegedly responsible for the battering of a 15-year-old girl, who stays with her, has been arrested by men of the Lagos State Police Command.
A Good Samaritan had tipped Punch about the plight of the 15-year-old girl, Oluebube Amadi, in the hands of her guardian. The girl had alleged that she was flogged and had pepper sprinkled on the scars left by the flogging on Sunday, January 11. Oluebube Amadi told the Good Samaritan, known as Rukayat that she was whipped for sending one of her guardian’s daughters to bring her soap to do the dishes.
