A 40-year-old civil servant, Mr. Olufemi Ojikutu, has told
an Igando Customary Court in Lagos he wants a necklace before agreeing
to divorce his wife.
“My wife must return my late mother’s gold necklace before she can divorce me,’’ Ojikutu told the court on Wednesday.
He said this while responding to a divorce suit filed by his wife, Olaide.
The 28-year-old petitioner, who had approached the court to terminate her five-year-old marriage due to her husband’s infidelity.
